The V10-powered sports car called the Dodge Viper has been made by the Dodge division of Chrysler. The car began production in 1992 in the factory of the new Mack Assembly. Three years later, the plant production capacity two-seat supercar Conner Avenue Assembly was postponed.
The Dodge Viper and its many spin-off of vehicles, has appeared in several films, music videos, television shows and video games.
The Dodge Viper is a futuristic version of the classic American muscle car. While many people insist that was the inspiration for the Dodge Viper, the AC Cobra, the final version of the Dodge Viper was actually much bigger than this iconic vehicle. Finally, comparisons with the Cobra as a marketing exercise has been seen, despite the fact that Carroll Shelby was involved in the action in the original design of the Dodge Viper.
The original design of the Dodge Viper was in 1988, where they hatched in the Advanced Design Studio in the Chrysler Corporation’s plan. February the following year, was the president of Chrysler’s Bob Lutz suggested the company needs to produce a modern version of the Cobra.
The Dodge Viper is available as a coupe or two-seat roadster. Standard equipment includes racing-style seats, electrically adjustable pedals, keyless entry and a 300-watt audio system with CD changer. A 8.4-liter V10 engine develops 600 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox and limited slip differential standard sent. The performances are from another world, like the Viper can reach 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. With all this energy is huge Brembo brakes, 18-inch front and 19-inch forged aluminum rear wheels. The track for the SRT-10 ACR Edition adds a number of additional services go fast, but still the same drivetrain as the regular Dodge Viper.
